CSFD’s focuses on sustainable development and one of the important areas which needs an urgent attention is Food and nutrition security.
Through CSFD’s project that is being implemented in the areas of Paniyal and Badampet Villages, Hathnoora Mandal, Sangareddy, Telanganafood and nutritional security among the farming community is being improved by introducing kitchen gardens. Kitchen gardens is sought to diversify and intensify the nutritional intake by facilitating the farmers and their families in regular consumption of basic nutrients by growing common vegetables and fruits in the backyard of their houses. The project intends to develop 50 kitchen gardens and provide the farmers the necessary knowledge to maintain and grow more crops in the future. 25 gardens will be developed in Paniyal and 25 in Badampet through this projects. Collaborations with experts from agriculture department, National Institute of Nutrition (NIN), local Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) workers and the nearest Primary Health Centers will be involved to implement the activities agriculture and health aspects of the project.
