Cornell Sathguru Foundation for Development (CSFD) is pleased to kick-start the training program for rural youth on modern agriculture and agribusiness on 18th Jan 2022. This program is being held at Regional Agricultural Research Station (RARS), Warangal with the technical support of 20 agriculture scientists from Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) Telangana. This 6-day experiential residential training program would focus on training youth on four modules namely – agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, and agribusiness. Youth would be trained through classroom lectures, experiential learning and exposure visits to Krishi Vignana Kendra, seed processing unit, the centre of excellence for fruits and vegetables, Mulkanoor daily cooperative etc. 50 youth from Warangal villages are attending the program and it is envisioned that this program will ignite interest among youth in agriculture and enable them to see it as a profession attractive both economically and intellectually. Also, this initiative will increase more skilled workforce and improve the opportunities for farmers in agriculture, focus on value-added products, agri-enterprises and earn additional incomes through allied sectors. CSFD thanks Aurobindo Pharma Foundation for their commitment to improve livelihoods of farming communities and financially supporting the training initiatives
