Rural Entrepreneurs Enabler Meet (REEM)
To leverage the potential of agriculture and its value chains for generating sustainable employment and livelihood opportunities in rural areas, CSFD has commenced entrepreneurship acceleration training programs to foster rural entrepreneurship. This initiative focuses on identifying, training, and supporting rural stakeholders and young talents in their journey toward entrepreneurship through a collaborative effort involving institutions dedicated to promoting rural entrepreneurship.
Before launching the rural entrepreneurship programs, CSFD, in collaboration with AgHub and PJTSAU, organized a stakeholder meeting called the Rural Entrepreneurs Enabler Meet (REEM). The primary objective of REEM was to enable rural incubators and institutions to promote rural entrepreneurship actively.
Further, REEM focussed on enhancing the innovation and entrepreneurship landscape and establishing a network of rural incubators and facilitators to consolidate efforts that support rural entrepreneurship in Rural Telangana. This meeting took place on June 14, 2023, at AgHub, PJTSAU, with the participation of senior representatives from NABARD, Telangana State Innovation Cell (TSIC), National Institute for Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (ni-msme), APMAS, Palle Srujana, Deshpande Foundation, Balavikasa, among others. The long-term objectives of the REEM network include:
- Collaborative programs
- Thought leadership on rural entrepreneurship
- Joint rural innovation challenges
- Establishing a focused funding ecosystem to promote rural entrepreneurship
- Aligning corporate/CSR initiatives to impact the rural entrepreneurship ecosystem
After organizing the REEM, we conducted three entrepreneurship acceleration training programs focused on Vermicomposting, Sericulture, and Apiculture. The Vermicomposting and Sericulture programs were carried out in collaboration with PJTSAU, while the Apiculture training was conducted in partnership with Forest College and Research Centre Mulugu, Siddipet.
