Hyderabad: Cornell Sathguru Foundation for Development in association with Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agriculture University and Aurobindo Pharma Foundation organised a village-level knowledge sharing session on Annapoorna Krishi Prasara Seva (AKPS) application in Paniyal and Badampet, Hathnoora, Sangareddy.
During the programme, farmers registered with AKPS and were taught on how to use the application for agriculture and related services. The programme will ensure villagers are registered on this app, with an aim to provide holistic support for the development of the farming community. Farmers can avail the services of AKPS for free by calling the AKPS app toll free number -1800 425 3141.
Dr Srinivas Rao, Scientist, DAATTC explained various methods to prevent pests in the cotton and paddy crops. The session was made interactive with farmers, who brought a sample of the infested cotton and paddy plants and asked for solutions at the venue.
Raja Rajeswari, Associate Vice president, CSFD, said Village Information Centre would be established in Paniyal and Badampet villages through which valuable information pertaining to agriculture and its allied sectors would be made readily available to the farmers, said a press release.
