Pathways towards sustainable social development – New Beginnings

Cornell Sathguru Foundation for Development (CSFD), an NGO promoting sustainable agriculture in India is excited to ally with NUGENES a value-based, research-driven and customer-oriented leading seed company. This alliance will focus on improving the socio-economic conditions of small farmers in Telangana!!

Through this synergy, CSFD and NUGENES will work on improving the socio-economic and health conditions in villages in Medchal district, Telangana. In specific, the interventions would focus on training young farmers on the latest trends in agriculture and agri enterprises and enhance access to ICT to improve agricultural productivity among small farmers.  Kitchen gardens would be established to improve health and nutrition and awareness programs would be conducted to deepen the knowledge on the safe consumption of wholesome food.

As an impact, this intervention will enhance skills among young farmers, facilitate them to explore opportunities in agriculture, value addition, agri-entrepreneurship and alternative livelihoods. This initiative will also contribute to improving health and nutrition outcomes, economic, social aspects among marginalized communities especially in achieving gender equality and improving decision-making power among women to invest savings in education, social and health needs of their families. Additionally, this project would contribute to the environment by reducing carbon footprints.

Strong partnerships are key to achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). CSFD and NUGENES are all set to lay a pathway to make a difference in the lives of resource-poor communities.
